Heron is the only boy who doesn’t understand magic.
How can something so unpredictable and impossible even work? Why is he the only one who can’t wrap his head around it? Why can everyone else in his tribe shift into their bird forms effortlessly, while he’s never even sprouted a single feather?
Why does it seem like they all speak a language he doesn’t understand?
Now, the questions that have always haunted his steps finally catch up to him… and so do outside evils threatening to tear apart his tribe, hunting them for their magic. Heron is faced with an impossible ultimatum: learn to shift into his bird form, or be left behind by his flock—forever.
I’m Hannah, a young author from Southern California who loves penning epic (and sometimes funny) stories for all ages.
There are a lot of words that can be used to describe me. Introvert. Devourer of books. Hobby artist. Martian. High schooler. Cat lady. Stalker living in your attic.
But the reason I’m here in the first place is because I’m a writer! And I write about a variety of things–you know, superheroes saving the world, weirdos struggling to fit in, shapeshifting birds, magical knights, evil organizations trying to brainwash everyone, and average kids learning to navigate the world.
And that’s not even the half of it!
As an avid SFF fan (dare I say . . . fangirl?), I write stories filled with heart and hope–and then I balance it out with plenty of humor and quirky characters, because, let’s be honest, we all take ourselves a little too seriously sometimes. We’re all a bunch of weirdos at heart.
(Yes, even you.)
